Early Help
Holyrood Academy works closely with many agencies in order to identify any needs that children and their families may have that go beyond support offered in school. Somerset’s Early Help framework provides an opportunity for professionals to work together with a child and their family to identify any necessary actions or referrals needed. It is widely recognised that when children and families receive effective early help, that a big difference can be made.
Further information on Somerset’s Early Help Assessment can be found here.
Sometimes children and their families have needs that go beyond the support we can provide as a school. Where this is the case, Holyrood Academy will work closely with other agencies, using Somerset’s Early Help Assessment (EHA) framework, to identify these needs and provide
the help that is required.
If you have a concern which involves the safety or wellbeing of a child, please contact a member of the safeguarding team during school hours on either:

Internal information and support
Holyrood Academy are lucky to be able to provide an additional level of support for families through our Parent and Family Support Advisor (PFSA) Caroline Markham.
PFSAs work within Somerset County Council’s Early Help Framework to enable high-quality support for children/young people and families at the earliest possible stage.
PFSAs work closely and collaboratively with schools, families and other support services in order to improve attendance, engagement and outcomes for children. The needs of the child/young person or family form the basis of all work completed. Where there is a need for support from other services, PFSAs can act as Lead Professional.
PFSAs are only able to engage in work with families with their informed consent and agreement.
For a referral to our PFSA, please speak to your child's Year Leader.
Parent and Family Support Advisor
We work closely with external agencies, in line with Somerset's Early Help strategy, to provide the right support to families at the right time.
We can support families to complete an Early Help Assessment for referrals to external teams, such as the Family Intervention Service, when needed. Please contact the Safeguarding team, if you require any support.
