Holyrood Academy is proud of the results that it’s students have achieved at both the end of Year 11 and the end of Year 13. Throughout a period of significant educational disruption, staff and students have rallied together to ensure that students achieve well so that they can move on to some really exciting futures. At both the end of Year 11 and Year 13, students leave us for a range of exciting destinations including top universities and higher apprenticeships with competitive employers.
GCSE Results 2022:
The students and staff at Holyrood Academy were delighted that Year 11 students at Holyrood Academy have excelled in their GCSE examinations and secured a fantastic set of results. Holyrood students also excelled in vocational courses with the vast majority of students achieving Distinction and Distinction* grades. There have been some exceptional individual achievements across the whole ability range with many students surpassing their target grades. Top performing students this year included:
Evan Koike who achieved 6 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and a Grade 7.
Zoe Nicholson who achieved 6 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s.
Erin Molloy who achieved 4 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s.
Olivia Hadley who achieved 3 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s.
Will Lees who achieved 3 Grade 9s, and 4 Grade 8s
Charlie Lockyer who achieved 3 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and a Grade 7.
Laura Oliveira who achieved 3 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s, and 2 Grade 7s.
Many students met and surpassed their challenging target grades, however Saffron Hibbitt excelled by exceeding her target grades in all subjects where in most cases she achieved two grades above targets. Oliver Collins also made excellent progress achieving well above his target grades.
A Level Results 2022:
Students at Holyrood Academy in Chard celebrated an excellent set of A Level and Level 3 BTEC results. The level of resilience and determination shown by this particular group of students has been really impressive given that this was the first set of public exams taken due to the pandemic leading to the cancellation of their GCSE exams. It’s clear that the hard work of many individuals has led to them being able to move on to a range of exciting destinations. Top performing students included:
Serena Walker achieved an A* in Business Studies and two further A Grades and goes on to read Business Economics at Exeter University.
Megan Churchill achieved two A grades at A Level and a Distinction* in Media.
Zoe Hunt achieved AAB and goes on to read Chemistry, the Atmosphere and the Environment at the University of York.
Daisy Reynolds achieved a Distinction* in Media, an A in Biology and a B in Sociology and is pursuing a career in Mental Health Support.
Joseph Bartlett achieved an A grade in History, a Distinction in Performing Arts and a B grade in English Literature and goes on to study English and Theatre Studies at Warwick).
Katelin Berry achieved a Distinction* in Engineering followed by two B grades at A Level and goes on to read Animal Management and Wildlife Conversation at the University Centre Somerset.
Oliver Saxby achieved ABB at A Level plus a B grade in the Extended Project and goes on to read Mathematics at the University of Exeter.
