Welcome
Welcome to the Sixth Form
We are extremely ambitious at Holyrood Sixth Form and we are all striving for excellence. We are absolutely committed to helping every student stand out against the crowd and achieve their full potential. We do this by ensuring that they achieve the best possible grades, by allowing them opportunities to give something back to the school and wider community through our volunteering schemes. We offer a range of academic enrichment, societies and sport in the Sixth Form, both during and after the school day, to those students who wish to extend their Sixth Form experience and make the most of the opportunities provided to them. As part of the Sixth Form curriculum we also provide timetabled enrichment programmes and our fortnightly Personal Development programme teaches and refines invaluable life skills.
As a smaller Sixth Form, every student is known and benefits from our one-to-one academic tutoring and is able to take advantage of the care and support we are able to offer beyond the classroom environment. We know how important this is in developing the confidence and resilience of our young people and we are with them every step of the way, so they can achieve their ambitions.
As a Sixth Form we believe that there is no limit to what our students can achieve. In fact, we are constantly challenging our students to aim higher than they ever have before. With increasing numbers of our students securing competitive apprenticeships across the country, entering Russell Group universities and securing places at both Oxford and Cambridge. We offer a breadth of preparation to support every student achieve their aspirations. We are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved to date and are even more excited by what lies ahead.
Starting your Sixth Form journey is exciting. Some students may know exactly what they want to study, whilst others may be uncertain at this stage about what courses they want to take. Please be reassured that a member of our team will talk through all options and continue to listen and support you over the next two years.
Your success and happiness are our number one priorities and as such, we will challenge and support you at every stage of your journey through our Sixth Form. Whether you wish to secure an apprenticeship, employment or a university place, all are equally valued here and we will work with you to ensure that you achieve your goals. At the end of your two years, we want to see you smiling opening those exam results. In order to achieve your best, we expect three things:
Excellent attendance
Enthusiasm for learning
Engagement with Sixth Form life
We believe in you.
